Criterion D : Strengths and Weaknesses

Strength
Weakness
1.      The site is colourful
2.      Has images
3.      Has information
4.      Has nice backgrounds
5.      Teaches grade 7 French
6.      Has most basic grade 7 vocabulary for French
1.      Needs more information
2.      Needs more pages
3.      More interacting with viewers
4.      Needs more word documents  for the grade 7 to learn
5.      More pictures
6.      Needs challenges for viewers

How to improve the product:

The way I can improve my website is if I add more pages so they viewers that are grade 7 can interact more. Maybe add a few more word documents for it which have more vocabulary for the Grade 7 and have small activities so the grade 7 can do to test what they learnt from my website.

My design specification:

I actually followed my design specification and I had fun doing it. I did change some stuff on the way like the amount of pages I used for the website and instead of putting information I used word documents so it would be easier for me and easier for the viewers or Grade 7 to access the information and vocabulary for them to learn.

Design specification

Research findings
I.C.T and MFL teamed up together that we make a website to teach grade sevens so they learn the basics of French or Spanish. I am in the making of my website. I researched a lot on my website to find questions to use for it. The website will have some mini games for the grade sevens to play around and their will be different levels for beginners and advanced. The research I have done for the   website is to find basic vocabulary for the website to use for the grade 7 to learn.
Form
What will it look like?
What materials will you use?
What size will it be?
What are its special features?
The format of the website would be once you click it. It would take you to the homepage and show you an introduction of my website o where to go, what to do and what is it. You can shoes three other pages. One for beginners, one for advanced and a little mini game for fill in the blanks
Function
What is the type and purpose of the product?
What will it do?
How will it do this?
There will be different pages for them to use. And some pictures. It will not be a hard website to use for the students. The website will let grade 7 learn how to speak French.
User
Who is the product for?
What do they want this product to do?
Where/why will they use it?
What do they want the product to look like?
The product is for grade sevens. It is for them to learn different languages. It
helps them to learn so they can learn and o around the world and talk to people and learn the language.  The product will

Costs
How much would the product cost to manufacture?
How much would it be sold for?
How much profit would be made on each product?
What is the scale of production?
No money involved for the website. I am using a site called wix where you can make your own website with no cost as you can make anything you want on the website.

What was the project about?
The project is about creating an R2—D2 (robot), inspired by the movie, ‘Star Wars’. The R2-D2 has an RC car controlling it. There is a projector, which puts holograph and has a torch. It even has a Bluetooth speaker and makes a sound of R2-D2.

What are the positive things you liked about their project?
It’s something very different from the projects in our class and unique. The R2-D2 that they made has some special functions, not only the ability to move like the normal RC car.

Is there anything specific input that you would like to give them as a suggestion for improvement?
I think they should have created a controller of the robot to make it more original. The paint on the robot was very cheap, which made it less appealing

What is your honest evaluation on a scale of 1 to 5?

Comparing the projects in the class do you think that this project needs to be part of the Tech Fair 2016?
Why do you think that this project must be demonstrated during the Tech Fair?
The project should be part of the Tech Fair 2016 because it had many attractive features and functions, such as speaker, torch, etc… Although it had some cheap parts, those do not affect the quality and the originality of the product.

Criteria D

Objective D: Evaluating
· How is your product working when compared to the design specification you mentioned in Criteria A
Well the project has the same concept as we thought it would be. We need to work on the paint job and the motor to make faster.

· Get feedback about your product from your friend who has used/seen the product
“The product was good and I like the whole idea of the projector and lights. The paintjob needs to be redone and try and hide the car and try and make the car much faster as it is too slow.”

· Explain how the solution could be improved
We need to make a better paintjob and fix the projector inside the head and the car will be changed by an actual RC car that is much faster and can hold a lot of weight.

· Explain the impact of the solution on the client/target audience
The project is mainly for people who are tired and just came back from a run. So the R2D2 is there to pick up a soda or water from the fridge to bring it to them or just a play thing for the kids to watch a movie.
· Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the product developed
Strengths
Weakness

Light works
Projector works
Bluetooth speaker works perfectly

Criterion C

Me and Angelo are working on a product, something amazing, known very well from star wars. R2 D2. we have a design that will blow your minds and will have even a hologram! We have the steps of how long it took to make.

Week 1

First we were deciding what products we need and find them online on different websites.

Week 2

Designing the product and find out what color it would need and see if it would fit the product

Week 3

Parts finally arrive and start to put product together. add lights as well

Week 4

Paint and add the last pieces for the product and wait for it to dry. check if all parts are on properly

Week 5

Test the product for any problems. Finally release the product to the people and show them what its made of.

Criteria A

Introduction:
Are you a fan of star wars? Do you need something that can help you around? Well get an R2-D2! It can bring you a soda when you’re sitting on the couch watching T.V, it can even clean your room! And don’t worry, its Eco-friendly made by scraps like old RC- cars and cardboard! the product was inspired by Star Wars the movie which the two owners loved (me and Angelo. the product took time to make for the first release as it took a while to make but we got the hang of it.

Now we interviewed a costumer that bought the product:

So how was the product?

The R2-D2 is very unique and has a lot to it that people all around the world could use.

Were there any problems with the product its self?

Well the R2-D2 is very good and fast at working, just takes a while to get the message and get a drink for you or something which is a problem you should work on.

Does it help you around the house?

A lot, especially with my daughters room and cleaning it up.

Our Aim:
Our aim is to start to figure out where to buy the parts and pieces we need. we already have some parts that we can use for our R2-D2 which will amaze others. we have a big plan for it and hope to have a successful tech fair idea. It will be moving around and could make noises of the actual R2-D2 from Star Wars. another aim of ours is the R2-D2 will be used around the globe and people would love to have one especially the Star Wars fan out there.

Brief Design:

The design will be a normal sized R2-D2, the outside will be made of cardboard, metal and a bit of different materials we are still figuring out to use like cloth or something and a lot of paint for the color the product has and we need to put a bit of shine for the affect of how it looks. the inside will be used cars that will move the R2-D2s head and move around. There will be a Bluetooth speaker inside that will make the actual sounds of R2-D2 and make it more effective like it would make one noise if it understood you and another to say if you could repeat it. the cars would be small and be attached to the R2-D2 but sometimes would mess up. one thing it will have a  it will have an antenna which would bring are stronger connection for a phone if your lost in the desert but this will be included with the future product.

Strengths:
Outside is made out of cardboard and paper. The inside will be made of a bit of metal which will hold it together and not fall apart. Lights, sounds and movement will be added for a much bigger affect for the project.
Weakness:
Sometimes the project will fall apart and loose some pieces. The sounds might not work. The movement of the project might get a little loose.
Opportunities:
The project will go on sleep mode at night but will wake up if any problems. Comes with extra batteries that last a few months. You can buy more at our website.
Threats:
The product might fall apart as it will heat up if over used in one day.

BrainStorm Ideas For Tech Fair

1. Our first idea is a robot that would recognize a song and star to dance to the song. if it knows the song, it would dance the exact the same way as in the music video.

2. Our second idea is a replica of R2-D2 from Star Wars. he would move, look around and have the sounds of the part in Star Wars.
